Good News Regarding “Moving From Fear to Freedom”

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

Last October, I was told that Moving From Fear to Freedom was going to go out of print in January 2010. I must admit that I felt disappointed. No, my feelings ran deeper than that. How could that happen, I wondered. Fear is a huge issue and it’s not going to disappear anytime soon. I struggled to know how to respond, especially when women’s groups continued to contact me and say how much they appreciated the lessons they were learning as they used it for their small group study.

A few days ago I asked my publisher about buying the leftover copies in the warehouse. To my utter amazement, I learned that the information I’d been told last fall was wrong. The book is not going out of print…at least not until the end of this year. And those plans could change if sales turn around. I feel as though God has breathed a second wind into this book. I can hardly wait to see what He has in store.

Announcement: Moving From Fear to Freedom

Wednesday, August 26th, 2009

I’m doing a happy dance today…

Wait! That doesn’t sound very spiritual, does it? Perhaps I should say, “I’m feeling very blessed.” Whatever. The reason for my excitement is the same no matter how I express it. What’s it all about? I’ve had some wonderful feedback/ministry opportunities in the past couple of days regarding Moving From Fear to Freedom: A Woman’s Guide to Peace in Every Situation.Freedom -- Fox

One woman called today to say she feels God is telling her to use this book for a year-long study with a group of young mothers involved in the MOMS program (Mentoring Our Mothers Society). She said she read it this summer and found it incredible. Praise the Lord!

Before that phone call ended, my doorbell rang. There stood a woman I’ve met only once, while at a women’s retreat three years ago. She told me how her 30-year-old son died in a motorcycle accident in July, and how this book has transformed her life by giving her the courage to share her life’s journey, including this tragedy, with others. Her copy was  highlighted, and the corners of numerous pages were turned down.

I listened to her testimony in awe, praising God for how He’d directed me to write this book , given me the courage and ability to do the job, and provided a publisher who believed in its message (Harvest House Publishers).

Perhaps you’re looking for a book to share with a friend who’s been recently diagnosed with cancer, or whose marriage has recently broken up. Perhaps you’re in those circumtances yourself and needing encouragement. Maybe you’re looking for a book to study with a group this fall or winter. Consider Moving From Fear to Freedom – it’s making a huge difference in readers’ lives.  It’s available at bookstores everywhere. If you’ve read it and found it to be helpful, would you consider spreading the good word on Facebook and Twitter, or in your own blog? The message about overcoming fear is too important to fall by the wayside! Thank you!

Now read on for today’s devotional…

Announcement re: Blog Schedule

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009

Hi ladies! I’m in Poland right now, headed to the Berlin airport in a couple of hours to pick up our Canadian volunteers who will be joining us to minister at an evangelistic family camp for the next 10 days or so. This is my last opportunity to post anything online as we will not have internet access until I return to Canada on August 4th.

Please pray for our team, that we will have physical strength and good health to keep up to the schedule. And pray for the salvation of the campers who will be attending. Many are from poor and at-risk families where alcoholism is a problem. Most are non-believers.

You’ll find two more devotional blogs this week — Wednesday and Friday. After those have been posted, the next one will be on Friday, August 7th. If, by chance, there is internet access after all, I’ll post travel blogs as my schedule permits.

In the meantime, blessings on you and yours!

100 Huntley Street interview

Sunday, June 14th, 2009

I learned that “100 Huntley Street” aired the “Full Circle” interview on Friday. Click on this link to watch it.

At the end of the interview, I told viewers to visit my website for free resources re: overcoming fear. I said to click on the little TV screen that says “free media giveaways.” Trouble is, my website was updated after the interview was done, and the TV is gone! So…click on “resources” instead and you’ll find them there.
