5 Practical Ways to Care for Your Soul
Soul care matters. If we’re in a healthy place, then we’re better able to help others who are struggling. So be good to yourself.

Praising God shifts our focus from our fears and failures to the character of the One who never disappoints or abandons us. And joy is born.
When weariness drains us dry, joy is ours if we want. When burdens threaten to crush the life from us, joy is available as a supernatural gift of God’s grace.
Crisis changes life in a nanosecond. It can rob us of routine, ruin our ability to sleep well, and remove our capability to think straight.
“All” tells us to seek God’s will in everything we do. Our human bent is to seek our own will, to secure our own personal interest in everything we do.
When Jonah spilled his frustration, God asked him a pointed question: “Is it right for you to be angry about this?” It’s important we ask the same question.
A human perspective thinks the pandemic has taken so much. In many ways, it has. But God’s thoughts are higher than ours, and His perspective renews hope.
Waiting can either drive us crazy or become a rich experience that draws us into a deeper, sweeter walk with the Lord. We’re in control of the outcome.
To which voice do you most often listen? Listening to the voice of truth banishes the darkness and leads us into the light where peace, healing, and hope reign.
Christ’s voice is the one we ought to heed, and for good reason. He is life and truth. And He wants to be fully engaged in our everyday lives for our good.
Looking back has its place and benefits. Spend a few minutes recalling one of God’s kindnesses toward you, one answered prayer, one act of provision.
If I’ve invited Him to be the Lord over every part of me, He has the right to steer me in the direction He wants to accomplish His purposes in and through me.
Where we fix our focus determines our destiny. Turn your eyes from worthless things. Focus on Jesus, and you’ll discover the abundant life He intended for you.
If we truly want to overcome a self-defeating habit or habitual sin, then banishing inaccurate thinking and replacing it with truth is key.
Psalm 54:4 offers a simple but profound truth packed with hope for whatever pain or uncertainty we face today. It says, “But God is my helper.”
We run into trouble when we let our focus linger where it shouldn’t, so the moment we’re aware of our lapse, we need to put it back on Jesus.
It’s easy to love, honor, respect, and serve others who think like we do. But it’s not so easy when we’re tired or with people who differ from us.
Envy is a trap. Freedom comes when we focus not on what others have but on the riches that belong to us when we belong to God.
Our human tendency is to lose patience and say or do something we regret. Instead, make a list of three things which you can be thankful in the midst of them.
God is good not only when life is good. He’s good all the time. Even when life stinks. Even when the furnace dies in winter.
There’s the feeling of being held hostage by circumstances beyond our control. But I choose, by God’s strength, to give thanks in the midst of it.
Everything Satan whispers or shouts is a lie because he’s a liar. We needn’t give him one ounce of attention. Rather, let’s fill our minds with the truth.
Changing my thoughts has changed my life, and I pray that countless others will find the same outcome in every part of who they are.
Wise speech carries the power of life and hope. Using an acronym like “THINK” will help ensure our words bring a smile to God’s face.
Being honest with ourselves, others, and God requires admitting we’re imperfect. Doing so is humbling, but the rewards are worth it.
Our beliefs turn us to God for help and to trust that He knows our concerns and hears our cries. We pray in faith believing His answer is the best answer.
Jesus alone is our Anchor in life’s storms. Let’s hang on tightly to Him so that His sweet presence will draw us from darkness into the light of hope.
Giving thanks shifts our focus from our circumstances to the God who rules over them. It sets our mind to rest and frees us to see what God does on our behalf.
Changing the way we think means identifying the lies and replacing them with the Truth. But knowing it isn’t enough; we must apply it too.
Know that God sees you. You are not alone. Invite Him to meet you at your deepest point of need and to reveal Himself to you in this place.
When you feel surrounded by chaos and uncertainty, ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes to see splashes of beauty in their midst.
Maybe you’ve been toying with making a change but haven’t taken that first step. What needs to happen so you can make up your mind and begin moving forward?
Let’s commit to viewing the unforeseen through God’s eyes. Let’s embrace whatever He brings and seek to partner with Him to accomplish His purposes.
God’s unshakeable Truth helps calm fear. God is up to something far bigger than I can imagine; I will trust and not be afraid because He is with me.
If the Spirit controls our thoughts, we learn to establish healthy boundaries. We experience the freedom of forgiveness and the joy of life and peace.
Obeying the Lord might feel really difficult at times, but He deserves our reverent, immediate, and wholehearted yes because of who He is.
