No Need to Fear

“God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea…The LORD of Heaven’s Armies is here among us; the God is Israel is our fortress.” (Psalm 46:1,2,7)

Grace, as we all get closer to the anniversary of 911 01, this post takes on extra meaning. I know you are Canadian from meeting you at the Mount Hermon writer’s conference. My Dutch-Canadian uncle and aunt, were at long last leaving for a trip back to The Netherlands on 9/11/01. They ended up grounded on one of their connections, still trying to leave North America. There are probably not enough stories about all the stranded travelers, and the local people who reached out and took care of them. My aunt and uncle eventually made it back home, and have yet to plan another trip to Europe, although they do travel. They are actually great examples to me of faith.

    Thank you, Janneke

Hi Janneke. Nice to hear from you! It was a pleasure to meet you at Mt. Hermon. Thanks for sharing your connection with 9/11. I agree with you–there are probably countless untold stories about that day. And this verse does, indeed, take on new meaning in light of 9/11’s anniversary. Blessings to you, my friend.
