Facing a Army

Lord, please show me what to do.

News of an impending attack from neighboring territories drove King Jehoshaphat to his knees. “We have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us,” he prayed. “We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon you.”

No fancy words, no long-winded monologue. Just a simple statement of fact: We’re in trouble. We don’t know what to do. We need Your help.

How did God respond? He answered by fighting the battle on Jehoshaphat’s behalf and giving victory (2 Chronicles 20:12,15-17,22).

Have you ever faced a vast army, so to speak, feeling utterly powerless? Maybe you’re in an abusive relationship. Perhaps you’re heartbroken over wayward kids. Maybe you’re struggling with depression, facing financial ruin, or battling terminal illness. The army approaches, and you see no escape. What to do? Pray.

“I don’t know what to do, but my eyes are upon You.”

You may feel powerless, but God is all-powerful. Rest assured, He’ll fight on your behalf just as He did for Jehoshaphat.

Take Action:

Fill in the blank: “God, I don’t know what to do about ______________, but my eyes are on You.”
