Sometimes, in the midst of our rush-rush lives, we do well to press pause and do nothing but sit for a few quiet minutes in the presence of Almighty God.
To reflect on His unfailing love.
To bask in His presence and listen for His voice.
To shut the world out and shut ourselves in with Almighty God, Creator and Sustainer of life, Savior, Conqueror, King, Friend.
When we do, He meets us there. He envelops us with His love. He reminds us that He’s bigger than our circumstances and stronger than our enemy. He breathes hope, renews strength, and restores peace.
Press pause today, if only for a couple of minutes. And ponder the privilege that’s ours to belong to a God whom the psalmist described like this:
God’s love is meteoric,
his loyalty astronomic,
his purpose titanic, his verdicts oceanic.
Yet in his largeness
nothing gets lost;
Not a man, not a mouse,
slips through the cracks.
How exquisite your love, O God!
How eager we are to run under your wings,
To eat our fill at the banquet you spread
as you fill our tankards with Eden spring water.
You’re a fountain of cascading light,
and you open our eyes to light.
(Psalm 36:5-9 The Message)
Be blessed, my friend, as you press pause in the presence of God. Nothing is more important, for doing so equips you with all you need for the day.
Know you are loved,
Grace
