God is a lavish gift-giver. That’s right! “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding” (Ephesians 1:8, emphasis mine).
The dictionary defines lavish as “to bestow something in generous or extravagant quantities upon.” According to this definition, God is the opposite of skimpy. He showers His favor on His children. He begins with the free gift of salvation and then pours out on us everything needed to live victoriously.
What do you need to live victoriously today?
Patience with your kids? Strength to care for an aging parent or special needs child? Courage to face an unknown future?
Do you need comfort? Perseverance? Wisdom?
Perhaps you need joy. Or self-discipline to care properly for your body as God’s temple.
Tell God what you need today. Pray in confidence. Believe He will answer. And thank Him in advance for His lavish gifts. Everything you need, He will supply extravagantly.
