Sharing My Gratitude List for 2023
Happy New Year! Like me, do you feel as though the year whizzed by? As the year draws to a close, I’m reflecting on the many things for which I’m grateful.

Our Polish evangelistic camp ended last weekend. It never ceases to amaze me that relationships can run so deep in such a short time period.
About this time each January, North Americans break their New Year’s resolutions to pursue a healthier lifestyle. Applying God’s Word can help you keep yours.
His presence and power change everything. He infuses us with His vision, breathes energy into us as we pursue His kingdom, and brings eternal results for our efforts.
Every so often in our lives, God does a new thing. It’s highly probable that we won’t understand at first, and we might find the process difficult.
God works at all times and in all places. He’s constantly drawing men and women to Himself, and He uses people like me and you to help.
We don’t like to think about our faith journey requiring sacrifice. We’d rather think about how it benefits us: forgiveness, answers to prayer, eternal life.
God is near. His unfailing love surrounds us when we trust in Him. He guides us, advises us, and watches over us. He is fully engaged in our lives.
Yesterday my four-year-old grandson said: “God is BIG! He made the whole earth, and He can do anything because He is so strong! Nobody’s stronger than He is!”
If the Lord is our Leader, then we can trust Him and His ways. He knows the dangers that lurk and the battles He wants to avoid on our behalf.
Our job is to follow where He leads, listen to His voice, and trust Him. We’re also to practice praise even though we might not understand what He’s up to.
Anna–a senior Romanian woman I met three times–wasn’t sitting on the bench outside her home today as I’d hoped. The bench was gone, and her door was tied shut.
How are you doing in the “giving thanks” department? I’m thankful for God’s instructing us to do it–He knows doing so keeps our perspective in the right space.
I write these words with tears rolling down my face this morning. He’s taken the load from our shoulders. He’s freed our hands from their heavy tasks.
Are you facing a seemingly impossible situation? Consider it the perfect opportunity for God to do something big. He’s answered us and here are the specifics.
God has equipped every believer with at least one motivational gift, and using that gift makes us most effective and brings the greatest personal fulfillment.
I cling to the truth that no matter what happens to me, I’m a victor because God is the king of my life. No harm touches me unless He allows it.
Too often we think we need to be strong, brave, super-talented, or super-educated for God to use us, but Bible story after Bible story proves this wrong.
It’s Monday morning, and things aren’t going the way I’d planned. I’m writing this in the emergency room, sitting with my husband who was admitted 14 hours ago.
Sometimes the Lord surprises us with unexpected gifts. This week has been one of those for me. It was a sacred moment. A moment that awed me by God’s goodness.
Not once does God’s Word say, “Figure it out on your own,” but many times He promises to direct our steps and show us the right path.
A taste of German history made me shudder at the inhumanity of man. It also made me very thankful for freedom. It’s to be cherished and protected.
I’m on the way to Romania again. Here are some highlights from the trip beginning with a running tour through London.
I’ve met some incredible people and learned more than a few rich life lessons from them along the way. One of those lessons–the truth about missionaries.
Our situation seems impossible, and we’re certain we’ll drown. But wait! What does God’s Word say about the Red Sea? Here are some encouraging words.
Women around the world share many similarities. One of them is the ability to make a soul connection in a short time.
“The job description fits you and Grace,” he said. “May I give IM your names?” And so began our adventure into the realm of the impossible.
My husband sat at the kitchen table, his head in his hands. “It’s time for a change,” he said. “I’m not interested in doing this any longer.”
Taking God-given risks changes that. It keeps my faith alive and vibrant. It drives me into the Word and forces me to cling to God’s promises.
I have three kids, and they’ve all traveled abroad for missions. I know what it feels like to watch your teens board a plane with no guarantee of their return.
Life doesn’t always turn out the way we hope or plan. Sometimes our circumstances don’t make sense, and we wonder if God really knows what He’s doing.
God’s Word is filled with amazing promises He’s made to those who follow Him. Psalm 57 contains three of them. And they are true for you today
This mighty One, the Creator who made the heavens and the earth, is He who holds us in His hands. He loves us, calls us by name, and has plans for our lives.
I truly felt like the “older woman.” Thirty years ago, I was in their position – in college, with my whole adult future ahead of me. Where has the time gone?
Joseph’s aha moment reinforces his understanding of God’s sovereignty over his life. It frees him from anger and bitterness and a desire for revenge.
