Entertaining worrisome and fear-filled thoughts in the night makes it impossible o wake with an attitude of hope and anticipation.
A yearly focus word is a great tool to help us grow in our faith journey. One year, my word was “joy.” This year’s word, I believe, is “restore.”
Every challenge we face forces us to make a choice. Will we choose to trust our doubting selves? Or choose to trust a God who is faithful, wise, and good?
Life is really hard sometimes. But suffering is temporary. Let’s neither run from it nor resist it because it refines us and strengthens our faith.
We grieve our loss but we celebrate her gain. And we see light at the end of the tunnel of sorrow knowing we’ll someday celebrate a great, grand reunion.
Knowing to Whom we belong and understanding His purpose for us frees us from insecurity and pride. We feel no need to portray an image meant to impress.
Scripture reminds us to yield control and trust the Lord. To close our eyes, let go, and fall into His arms. And He promises: “I will never fail you.”
As I ponder Peter’s words, I picture a little girl asking her daddy to twirl her “more and more.” She holds her arms up as she begs for “just one more swing.”
I’d rather lavish love long-distance, even if it’s never acknowledged, than risk being misunderstood or used by someone known with a difficult personality.
