Thanks for sharing my excitement in launching my new brand, “Inspiring hope, courage, and transformation through God’s Word–with a dash of adventure.”
I’d rather do without difficulties. But reality is–that’s not going to happen. Difficulties are a part of life, so we’d best learn to deal with them well.
When we find ourselves in a difficult place, let’s neither fear nor lose hope. If God leads us to an impossible situation, then we are where He wants us to be.
Happy New Year! Like me, do you feel as though the year whizzed by? As the year draws to a close, I’m reflecting on the many things for which I’m grateful.
Someday we’ll know more fully than we know now. We’ll know more about God’s character and more about why He allowed certain circumstances into our lives.
Entertaining worrisome and fear-filled thoughts in the night makes it impossible o wake with an attitude of hope and anticipation.
Considering all that’s happening in the world, I can’t help but wonder about the future for my grandbabies. Perhaps you wonder the same for those you love.
Concerns kept coming to my mind. I wasn’t aware I’d picked up worry-weight til t began falling away. With every exhale, I felt lighter and freer.
Just ask the foot racer who lost the lead when he turned his head to check on the runners behind him. A split-second backward glance cost him the lead.
When we feel discouraged, we would do well to pause, take a deep breath, and ask ourselves the question: “Why are you crying?”
We find hope when we place our confidence in our unchanging God. Choosing to trust His wisdom, sovereignty, power, and goodness soothes the soul.
Perhaps in our longing for healing, God is beckoning us to exercise our faith, to come to him and touch the hem of his garment.
He provides everything needed to satisfy our soul’s deepest longings, but we can only experience His goodness and grace by listening carefully.
On a trip to Kathmandu, a friend and I encountered splashes of beauty amidst the mess as we walked down a narrow dirt lane in a residential neighborhood.
My three-year-old granddaughter was helping me tape boxes when she said, “This is a cross. It’s like Jesus. He died on the cross.” She noticed, but I did not.
Challenging circumstances don’t have to disturb our inner peace. If we take Jesus’ words seriously, we can accept that trusting in God is the way to respond.
God has no needs. He’s the source of everything that exists both seen and unseen. He’s sufficient and fully able to satisfy every need we have.
Living in a northern British Columbian community for three months provided an ideal visual of what it means to be surrounded by God.
Most of what we know about love is based on what we’ve experienced, and those experiences aren’t always the best teachers.
A yearly focus word is a great tool to help us grow in our faith journey. One year, my word was “joy.” This year’s word, I believe, is “restore.”
When I feel afraid or under spiritual attack, I imagine myself encircled by an impenetrable shield. It covers and keeps me from dangers on every side.

When bad news comes our way, we needn’t cave into fear. As followers of Jesus Christ, we belong to the living God for whom nothing is impossible.
We are finite beings so we often view our circumstances on a finite timeline. The clock ticks, and we grow anxious. We begin to doubt whether God hears us.
When life’s journey takes a difficult turn, our emotions want to cry, “Unfair!” or “Why me?” But God’s Word directs us to take a different approach.

God will never make a promise and then forget to honor it. He’ll never commit to doing something and then procrastinate or fail to follow through.
Storms will come and go. God’s promises help us navigate the wind and waves to a safe harbor. We can trust Him and not be afraid.
Every challenge we face forces us to make a choice. Will we choose to trust our doubting selves? Or choose to trust a God who is faithful, wise, and good?
I hold messy reality in one hand: Uvalde, Ukraine, inflation, family and ministry concerns. I hold God’s spectacular promises in the other.
As the birds sing this morning, a song pops into my mind. I recall the lyrics, and they encourage me to focus not on my concerns but on my blessings instead.
The marina sling holds the weight of a vessel, but my God holds every ocean, sea, bay, cove, river, and stream in His hand.
God has purposes yet unseen for our lives, too. Every one of the hardships we experience are part of the pruning and honing necessary to prepare us.
How often do we look at our circumstances, assume we know everything there is to know about them, and fall into discouragement or fear?
