In the midst of the hustle and bustle that accompanies this season, let’s remember what Christmas celebrates: Emmanuel – God with us.
God gives you the breath of life and controls your destiny. No matter what you face, God’s bigger, and He’s got your back.
Imagine with me, Jesus kneeling before His disciples and washing their dusty feet. He knew His most difficult hour was coming. But still He demonstrated love.
Who doesn’t want to be liked by others? Who doesn’t want to find favor and approval in the eyes of man? I do. And It can become our driving force.
The promise of His presence and power motivates me to obey. So does the threat of a negative outcome for disobedience. Either approach works for me!
Understanding these motivational gifts–their weaknesses and their strengths alike–helps us better understand our spouse, our kids, and our coworkers.
God has equipped every believer with at least one motivational gift, and using that gift makes us most effective and brings the greatest personal fulfillment.
Rather than walking in complete surrender to Jesus Christ, we often withhold things we hold near and dear. We’re afraid God will demand too much, and its cost.
What difference does it make if Christ’s love controls us? For starters, the world would look much different. Let’s do our part in making change happen.
One young man–a special fellow who has known more hardship in 25 years than most of us will see in a lifetime–said, “I pray every night with my friend.”
