Let’s Not Make Prayer Complicated
Sometimes we make prayer more complicated than it is. It’s not a formal conversation in which we’re compelled to repeat spiritual-sounding words.

Our circumstances may leave us feeling traumatized. But keeping our eyes on the unchanging Christ will help us weather the storm.
As life settles down and things look less desperate, let’s stand firm in our faith, relying on God and recognizing our need for Him just as we’re doing now.
God is right in everything He does. He’s right when He leads us down those sunlit paths, and He’s no less right when those paths lead into the dark places.
As we walk this road of change and uncertainty, let’s admit our strength is not enough. And make it our goal, to do it in the Holy Spirit’s supernatural power.
Waiting can either drive us crazy or become a rich experience that draws us into a deeper, sweeter walk with the Lord. We’re in control of the outcome.
If you’re feeling soul-weary, be encouraged. As strong as God is, He is also gentle. The same hands that hold the seas carry us close to the Father’s heart.
Only God is in control, and He knows best how to sort things out for our good and His glory. Let’s leave the pen in His hands.
Have you heard people describe themselves apologetically? Why? Because we listen to negative voices rather than believing the truth about who we are in Jesus.
What do you need today, friend? If you’re following the Good Shepherd, then everything you need is at your disposal. Just ask.
The thoughts we habitually think shape our beliefs. Our beliefs influence our behaviors. And our behaviors determine our outcome or destiny.
God knows what you need to hear and when, so commit to keeping your ears open. Ask Him, “What do You want to say to me today?” then wait in quiet expectation.
When the stress of uncertainty gets to you, go back to these five truths. Hide them in your heart, speak them aloud, and ask God to give you deeper insights.
You may feel comfortable when you’re in control of your circumstances. But things can get a little hairy when it feels like life is whirling out of control.
God hears our cries and will lift us from the mud and mire of fear and despair. He will set our feet on the firm foundation of His presence and promises.
This season of isolating ourselves in our homes needn’t be seen through a negative lens. Rather, let’s ask God to reveal Himself to us in new ways.
Fill your mind with His words. Meditate on them. Write them on notecards and post them where you’ll see them often. Speak them aloud. Personalize and pray them
To which voice do you most often listen? Listening to the voice of truth banishes the darkness and leads us into the light where peace, healing, and hope reign.
We trust strangers every day. Why, then, do we hesitate to trust the One who knows everything about us and whose intent toward us is good?
Christ’s voice is the one we ought to heed, and for good reason. He is life and truth. And He wants to be fully engaged in our everyday lives for our good.
Looking back has its place and benefits. Spend a few minutes recalling one of God’s kindnesses toward you, one answered prayer, one act of provision.
“I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” These were the last words Jesus spoke, the last promise He made before His physical departure.
My word is “listen.” It’s not the word I wanted. I tried to ignore it. But “listen” kept popping up, sometimes several times a day, and I finally surrendered.
Only God knows what the new year holds. For us, it’s a huge uncertainty. But one thing we know for sure, we can experience peace because Jesus said so.
If you’re finding this season difficult, know that you’re not alone. Also know that Jesus opens His arms wide and invites you to nestle close to His heart.
Perhaps your nighttime thoughts wander down the path of worry or fear. Maybe they take you to painful memories. If so, choose to refuse to linger there.
If I’ve invited Him to be the Lord over every part of me, He has the right to steer me in the direction He wants to accomplish His purposes in and through me.
Life’s hard places are often where we best experience revelations, so enter with courage and expectancy knowing God wants to deepen our friendship with Him.
Where we fix our focus determines our destiny. Turn your eyes from worthless things. Focus on Jesus, and you’ll discover the abundant life He intended for you.
Our thoughts about God the Father matter. If they’re not based on truth, we develop a skewed understanding of who He is and His role in our lives.
Keep your ears tuned to God’s voice. Listen for His promises and do what He says. Keep your focus on Him, and you will know a peace that cannot be manufactured.
Let’s ask God to open our eyes to the wonders He’s created. Let’s stand in awe of who He is and marvel that He loves us and wants a relationship with us.
If we truly want to overcome a self-defeating habit or habitual sin, then banishing inaccurate thinking and replacing it with truth is key.
Why does God wait until 11:59 when the situation looks hopeless? I suspect He waits because He wants us to experience His amazing power.
Psalm 54:4 offers a simple but profound truth packed with hope for whatever pain or uncertainty we face today. It says, “But God is my helper.”
The good news is ~ confessing our sin changes everything for us. God takes it away. He doesn’t just hide it somewhere else. He removes it from us.
