Summer Ministry in Romanian Communities - Grace Fox

Anna—a senior Romanian woman I met on three occasions—wasn’t sitting on the bench outside her home today as I’d hoped. The bench was gone, and her door was tied shut. I suspect she’s passed away since our last visit on July 9, 2012.

I’d like to think that our meeting was an example of how God pursues men and women because He wants to spend eternity with them. Imagine planting me—a woman from British Columbia—and her—a Romanian granny—in each other’s paths not once…not twice…but three times in three years. What are the human chances of that happening?

I’m very thankful I was able to pray with Anna the last time I saw her. Only God knows what may have come from that encounter and the two previous visits. My prayer is that she’s moved from her little village to her permanent home in heaven.

My prayer is also that God will use me and our team to reveal His love for men, women, and children living in a rural and poverty-stricken village on Monday. The village leaders have granted permission for us to come and conduct a DVBS program that day.

Nothing like this has ever been done there, so it’s possible that fear will prevent kids from coming. It’s also possible that curiosity will draw dozens. Time will tell. I’ll post about it after it happens.

Privacy issues prevent me from posting about this week’s ministry among some very special children, but I’m delighted to say that God did a tremendous work in their lives. I’m both humbled and honored to have been a part of His pursuing them.

Without a doubt, I know I’ll spend eternity with many of these precious young people. If you’d like to know more specifics to learn how you can get involved, please feel free to email me privately.

Thanks for your prayers as ministry continues here in Romania, a land whose people I love.

  1. Oh, Grace, it made me sad that Anna and her bench are gone… I remember it vividly. Perhaps one day you will meet again.
