You and Your Unique Gifts Make a Difference

How easy it is to spout off when we feel our opinion is not being respected. Or when we’re bone weary. Or when we believe the person is flat-out wrong.
Sometimes we make prayer more complicated than it is. It’s not a formal conversation in which we’re compelled to repeat spiritual-sounding words.
As we walk this road of change and uncertainty, let’s admit our strength is not enough. And make it our goal, to do it in the Holy Spirit’s supernatural power.
Consider this strategy when someone’s hurt you deeply: pray for them. Doing so is akin to donning protective armor against anger, bitterness, and unforgiveness.
These verses remind us that God is our refuge and our hope. Let us rely on His strength and not on our own. Let us seek His will and not our own.
God, in human form, wants us to know He’s in crazy-in-love with us. May we respond with gratitude. May we respond with joyful obedience to His commands.
God longs for us to be channels of His unbounded grace, not just stagnant pools. He lavishes us with His grace so we can generously share with those around us.
Isn’t that what true love is? Isn’t that what Christ demonstrated on the cross? He loved us before we ever loved Him, and His love cost for us cost Him dearly.
For each of the past five years or so, the Lord’s given me one special word on which to focus. Beyond a doubt, my word for 2016 is “great.”
The more we engage in unhealthy self-talk, the deeper we dig those ruts in our brain. Before long, we’ve trained our brain to think negatively.
Who would have guessed that God had such a surprise for us? Not I. Indeed, God is able to do more than we could ever ask or imagine. He just proved it again.
I suggest we make thanksgiving an attitude for 365 days each year. Imagine the Father’s joy in hearing His children express gratitude as a way of life!
I love when God answers prayer in ways that defy human explanation. At Heathrow, He made His presence undeniably obvious, and I’ll forever remember that moment.
Watching God answer specific prayers exceeding abundantly above on Kim and David’s behalf has been such a delight. And He’ll do the same for you.
As I ponder Peter’s words, I picture a little girl asking her daddy to twirl her “more and more.” She holds her arms up as she begs for “just one more swing.”
I’ve heard much about the importance of believing God’s Word. Now I’ve discovered two gems that solidify my conviction. Here they are, buried in Paul’s prayer.
