Exhale Your Worries and Go Free
Concerns kept coming to my mind. I wasn’t aware I’d picked up worry-weight til t began falling away. With every exhale, I felt lighter and freer.

My experience in a church nursery gives a good visual. A nervous toddler threw her arms around her mom’s neck and hung on to the one she knew loved her most.
As the birds sing this morning, a song pops into my mind. I recall the lyrics, and they encourage me to focus not on my concerns but on my blessings instead.
Take a moment to thank Jesus for His invitation to give rest to the weary and burdened. Come into His presence quietly and with no agenda. Exhale your worries.
His intent toward us is always good and never meant to harm or destroy. We find rest for our souls when we rest in Jesus.
God sees strengths in us that we fail to recognize. Perhaps we need to ask the Lord to help us view ourselves as He does.
Let’s take the high road. Let’s follow Christ’s example. And get on with the work of sharing Jesus love with others as He sacrificially shared it with us.
Life is really hard sometimes. But suffering is temporary. Let’s neither run from it nor resist it because it refines us and strengthens our faith.
Keep your minds focused on the Truth as we ride out the storm. None of this has taken the Lord by surprise. He sees us and He prays for us.
“I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” These were the last words Jesus spoke, the last promise He made before His physical departure.
My word is “listen.” It’s not the word I wanted. I tried to ignore it. But “listen” kept popping up, sometimes several times a day, and I finally surrendered.
2,000 years after He walked the earth, Jesus is considered the greatest Teacher. It makes sense to look to Him and His teachings to learn how to live well.
Our faith is complete, in part, when we love our enemies and pray for people who’ve wronged us. When we do so, Jesus says we’re children of God.
It’s important to fix my mind on Him and ensure my thoughts about Him are based on truth. The moment they go elsewhere, doubts roll in and drown me.
At Christmas, we celebrate Jesus as the Savior who came as a helpless baby. But let’s also celebrate Him as the One who gives us rest when we’re tired.
As we consider our shopping lists and the great sales that come after Christmas, let’s ask God to help us keep His perspective.
The word “all” is teeny but don’t overlook its might. Here are several verses that will instill hope when you’re tempted to say, “Nothing’s going right.”
Saying yes to God about living on a sailboat means letting go of nearly everything I own. It also means trusting God to provide for our needs in new ways.
Jesus knows the answer to every question with which we wrestle. Let’s seek Him first before making a regrettable blunder.
God wants us to trust Him with our hearts and our intellect. May He grant us the ability to trust Him like a little child unquestioningly trusts.
One of my daily prayers is, “Jesus, make me aware of Your presence.” His answers never cease to amaze me, and reminds me He is very much involved with my life.
We don’t like to think about our faith journey requiring sacrifice. We’d rather think about how it benefits us: forgiveness, answers to prayer, eternal life.
The challenge to doing so lies in our hearts. That happens when we yield ourselves completely to Jesus Christ and allow His Spirit to fill and control us.
May God grant us spiritual eyes to see suffering through His eyes and to respond in a way that both draws us into deeper intimacy with Him and brings Him glory.
Even though God tells us to persevere in prayer, I wonder if we sometimes cross an invisible line from persistence to panic-type praying.
Good intentions are good, but they’re not good enough. God desires more from us. We need to walk our talk and thereby prove we’re Christ’s disciples.
The fundamental step is to spend time in the Light’s presence. Ask Jesus to fill and control us, and His light will shine through us and pierce the darkness.
We’ve all experienced hurt from broken promises. But know this–God’s promises will never fail.
When stuff happens, we decide how to respond. Our challenge is to maintain a God-honoring perspective.
Maybe I’m seeing it all wrong. Maybe I’m fulfilling exactly what God intends for today, and I simply need to adjust my perspective.
I read these familiar words and screech to a mental halt. A handful of recent irritations and hurts come to mind.
