Imitate God by Loving Others
Watching my two-year-old granddaughter engage in a church service helped me understand what it means to imitate God. Watching her made my heart smile.

I was a Bible college sophomore when I sensed Him leading me to Belgium for a summer doing mission work. But I was a student with big dreams and empty pockets.
Most of what we know about love is based on what we’ve experienced, and those experiences aren’t always the best teachers.
God’s goodness follows us in ways too many to count. Goodness is God giving us what we don’t deserve. Mercy is God not giving us what we deserve.
Work and worry blind us to the miracles around us. We rush through our days silencing the tasks calling for our attention, and we miss the delights before us.
God will never make a promise and then forget to honor it. He’ll never commit to doing something and then procrastinate or fail to follow through.
Storms will come and go. God’s promises help us navigate the wind and waves to a safe harbor. We can trust Him and not be afraid.
Every moment of every day we need God’s presence in our lives. And every moment of every day our heavenly Father hears our sighs and cries.
God cares deeply about what concerns me and you, and he invites us to come to his throne room anytime day or night. We needn’t fear interrupting him.
Let’s take the high road. Let’s follow Christ’s example. And get on with the work of sharing Jesus love with others as He sacrificially shared it with us.
We grieve our loss but we celebrate her gain. And we see light at the end of the tunnel of sorrow knowing we’ll someday celebrate a great, grand reunion.
Take a few moments to reflect on this life-changing truth. The same God who crafted the heavens knows your name. He knows where you are this very moment.
Our circumstances may leave us feeling traumatized. But keeping our eyes on the unchanging Christ will help us weather the storm.
Focusing on fears about God’s intentions leads to the belief that He’s out to get us. Ironically, He is. But not in a negative sense.
The Lord surrounds His people both now and forever. He is everywhere around us. Nothing can touch us unless He parts the way and allows it.
I find courage in knowing God always sees me. I feel challenged in knowing He sees my heart. May He look upon it and see complete integrity.
God remains faithful. He desires us, He longs for us, He woos us. “I’m calling you to come back to me,” He says. “I love you thiiiiiis much.”
My two-year-old grandson became frightened, he ran to me and climbed into my lap. There he felt safe because he knew I would protect him.
God pursues us because He wants relationship with us. He woos us through His written words. He blesses us through the kindness of a friend or stranger.
A stranger’s undeserved kindness to me at Starbucks reminded me of God’s undeserved love and mercy to me and to all mankind.
Every once in awhile, we catch a glimpse of how much God delights in us. Here’s one example.
How much does God love us? We can’t even begin to count the ways! His devotion to us supersedes anything our minds can comprehend.
Circumstances might not turn out the way we wish, but we don’t need to fret or fear. He knows what’s best for us and how to bring it to pass.
No matter how dire our circumstances appear or how God-forsaken we feel, we can hang onto this assurance: God still loves us
As I read this passage, I circled the word all so I could grasp its significance. What did I learn? For starters, the Lord doesn’t leave a job half-finished,
