Finding Courage in Life’s Unfamiliar Territory

Truths about God are enough to begin and end everyday with a song of joy. He is powerful, filled with lovingkindness, and ready to be our refuge and strength.
When bad news comes our way, we needn’t cave into fear. As followers of Jesus Christ, we belong to the living God for whom nothing is impossible.
Praising God shifts our focus from our fears and failures to the character of the One who never disappoints or abandons us. And joy is born.
I find renewed hope when I cling to the truth that God will never let our pain go to waste. He will always make it beneficial to us when we work with Him.
Why does God wait until 11:59 when the situation looks hopeless? I suspect He waits because He wants us to experience His amazing power.
When we seek God’s forgiveness for wrong attitudes and behaviors, He cleanses us from our sin. He sees us not for who we were and the mistakes we made.
God fights our battles for us. But we play a role in securing victory, too. Our job is to address whatever practical issues we must address.

You’d think experiencing the lavish love of my heavenly Father would cause me to become a stellar woman of faith, eager and ready to lavish love on others.
As long as we’re warm and breathing, we face challenges of every sort. If we focus on them, we soon convince ourselves that they’re too big for us to handle.
If the Lord is our Leader, then we can trust Him and His ways. He knows the dangers that lurk and the battles He wants to avoid on our behalf.
Stories of God’s power encourage our faith. Here’s how I saw His power at work recently when He provided me with clothes I couldn’t normally afford.
Facing discouragement? Facing desperate circumstances? Be encouraged today. God knows the path through the deep waters. Trust Him.
I ask God for wisdom, for strength, and for courage. And He answers when I focus my thoughts on Him and His promises rather than on the stuff that unnerves me.
Our situation seems impossible, and we’re certain we’ll drown. But wait! What does God’s Word say about the Red Sea? Here are some encouraging words.
Two different orders. One said, “Stand still.” The other said, “Get moving.” Seems like a contradiction, doesn’t it? How do we know when to do what?
To say I felt overwhelmed would be an understatement. So what kept me going? Keeping my eyes on the One who is invisible.
I read Isaiah 63:14 and this thought popped into mind: Does my life accurately reflect God’s magnificent reputation? Do I honor His reputation?
When we’re in right relationship with Him, He sees us not for who we were and the mistakes we made; He sees us for who we are in Christ and what we can become.
I’m guilty, too. I read about God’s strength and love and faithfulness in His Word, but worry still creeps into my thoughts.
