Learning to See Life as God Sees It
Jesus’ words force me to sit up and pay attention. Obviously seeing suffering from God’s point of view matters, and it matters a lot.

My precious wee grandbaby looked directly into my eyes and slapped her hands over her ears. She never said a word, but her actions spoke volumes.
Refuse to dwell on the what-ifs.
Instead, dwell on the for-sures. For sure, God has not abandoned us. For sure, the pain of this earthly life is temporal.
“It is beyond my power to do this, but God can tell you what it means,” he said. But moved him from prison to palace and gave him a position he’d never imagined
Despite enduring two decades of mistreatment, Jacob clung to the knowledge that God was on his side. And that’s likely what carried him through the dark days.
God accomplishes His purposes despite our dysfunctional shortcomings. If He used only perfect people, He’d be outta luck.
I have three kids, and they’ve all traveled abroad for missions. I know what it feels like to watch your teens board a plane with no guarantee of their return.
Noah and Enoch knew how to be followers of God, how to be in right relationship with Him, how to be blameless before Him.
It’s so true–a baby changes everything. You don’t have to be a mother to experience this for yourself, especially when that baby is Jesus.
The baby Jesus was mankind’s introduction to God in flesh. But the image of the sleeping infant is a far cry from the Jesus revealed in Revelation 1:13-18.
Where would I be without Him, this One who’s all-powerful and all-wise? Where would I be if left on my own to figure out life and the path I should take?
Imagine being a friend of God…the Creator of all that exists…the One who calls the stars by name…the One who knows how many hairs are on our heads.
Sometimes life takes us to a place where we feel dry and bone weary. Thankfully we needn’t dwell there; God meets us there and breathes fresh life into us.
Assuming the worst often means we waste a lot of time and energy entertaining negative thoughts and what-ifs. But assuming correctly is a whole ‘nother story.
I find encouragement in knowing that whether or not God answers my prayers isn’t based on how eloquent my words are, or how good I am.
I find comfort in knowing that once God has forgiven me, He doesn’t recall the thoughtless and negative things I’ve done.
No matter how dire our circumstances appear or how God-forsaken we feel, we can hang onto this assurance: God still loves us
Rather than waste energy entertaining doubt and fear, let’s choose to trust in this far more awesome God to protect and provide for us.
Life doesn’t always turn out the way we hope or plan. Sometimes our circumstances don’t make sense, and we wonder if God really knows what He’s doing.

Life sometimes hands us experiences that make us feel feeble. The muck of discouragement sucks our feet down, and it’s difficult to stand.
The older I get, the more aware I am of my mortality. Someday, I’ll face death, too. That thought doesn’t scare me anymore.
Becoming a patient traveler on the Highway of Life doesn’t happen overnight. It comes as we learn to trust God’s sovereignty.
