Have you said yes impulsively to albeit good opportunities without asking God for His direction first only to fail to follow through?
Proverbs 19:21 says, “You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail.” This is why its important to talk with God before making decisions.
“This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it,” says Psalm 118:24. These words resonate with us some days more than others. Do you agree?
We can create a fiasco if we plunge into our plans without first consulting the Expert and giving Him the freedom to do with them whatever He knows is best.
As we tune our ear to hear His voice of truth, we’ll grow more adept at recognizing the lies and tuning out the naysayer.
I’ll always remember the voice on the phone that day: “Why do you bother doing what you do?” Thankfully God used that incident as a pivot-point for me.
We might be successful at concealing secret behaviors from people, but we’ll never hide them from the Lord. How easily we forget this truth.
Can I picture God smiling over this choice? This is a question we can ask ourselves when we allow negative thoughts to linger in our minds.
If God says to pray for those who have hurt us, then let’s do what He says. We can trust the outcome to His wisdom and sovereignty.
Loving relationships, comfortable circumstances, and possessions are gifts meant to be enjoyed, but not meant to become our security and satisfaction in life.
These verses remind us that God is our refuge and our hope. Let us rely on His strength and not on our own. Let us seek His will and not our own.
The more we love and trust Him, the more we hear His voice, and the more willing we are to follow wherever He leads even when it doesn’t appear to make sense.
Our prayers needn’t be long and sprinkled with big words in order for God to listen. God hears and answers even the briefest cries for help.
Our Polish evangelistic camp ended last weekend. It never ceases to amaze me that relationships can run so deep in such a short time period.

If God is who He says He is, and if His promises are true, and if He never fails to fulfill them – why do we worry or assume the worst?
Following Jesus means we’re never on our own. He promises never to leave us or forsake us. He’s with us at all times and in all places.
God, in human form, wants us to know He’s in crazy-in-love with us. May we respond with gratitude. May we respond with joyful obedience to His commands.
When circumstances deviate from the path I’d choose, I find consolation in three little words: “God’s got this.” He’s in control of every detail of our lives,

God is very aware of the hopes we embrace. God’s timing is not our timing. God’s love for us is so vast that we can trust Him in the wait
Do we hear God’s words as ho-hum or applicable only to others? Or do we hear His words, listen to what He’s telling us, and respond appropriately?

Satan knows how to attack Christ’s followers and he wants to defeat us but Christ is our hiding place. He surrounds us with songs of victory and unfailing love.
Jesus is all about setting us free from bondage. There are no cookie-cutter answers for our tough issues, but He is more than willing and able to help us.

What will friends and family say about you and me when they celebrate us someday? What one descriptive word will pop up repeatedly when they speak about us?
