Praising God With Every Part of Me
“Let all that I am praise the Lord,” it says. It offers no exception clause, and it encompasses every part of my being. Let all that I am praise the Lord.
Sometimes the hardest thing to admit is that we need to improve in areas of our lives. But with God’s help we can become the best versions of ourselves.
“Let all that I am praise the Lord,” it says. It offers no exception clause, and it encompasses every part of my being. Let all that I am praise the Lord.
Most of us have met people who can make a person feel as though she is the only one in the room worthy of their attention.
I long to be at the right place at the right time, recognizing those who need encouragement in some way, and knowing exactly what to say.
Before peppering Jesus with our wants, let’s thank Him for enduring pain and death on our behalf and for promising us eternal victory through His resurrection.
“The rest of my prayer that morning became this: Simplify my heart, Lord, to have just one request: To know You and dwell with You intimately.”
Maybe I’m seeing it all wrong. Maybe I’m fulfilling exactly what God intends for today, and I simply need to adjust my perspective.
Our conversation continued on a congenial note for a few minutes, and then we hung up. Two weeks later the same woman sent me an email.
I read these familiar words and screech to a mental halt. A handful of recent irritations and hurts come to mind.
I’d rather lavish love long-distance, even if it’s never acknowledged, than risk being misunderstood or used by someone known with a difficult personality.
I reveled in the thought of my former fiancé losing a few jewels in his heavenly crown but the thought of my being in the same boat was another story.
I’ve allowed the negative to rule at times. Believe me, the outcome isn’t pretty. Anger and angst leave my attitude stinkin’ like a heap of smoldering ashes.
Have you felt yourself emotionally, mentally or spiritually slip into a negative space? Have you ever experienced a loss of perspective that led to despair?
Negative voices can intimidate us, make us feel there’s something wrong with us, or steal our joy for what we believe God has called us to do – if we let them.
Voices that murmur doubts and cause you to query God’s character: “A good God would never allow such painful circumstances. Why devote yourself to Him?
