Jesus, the True Light of the World

Life has a way of dimming our sparkle, sometimes suddenly, sometimes slowly. If your inner light feels faint, pause and ask the Holy Spirit to show you why.
Christmas sparkles with twinkle lights, shiny ornaments, and festive displays. But behind all the glitter lies a deeper, richer truth—Jesus is the true Christmas light. He fulfilled the name Yahweh Ori—“The Lord is my Light”—when He stepped into our world and declared:
“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”(John 8:12 NIV)
Those are not merely poetic words. They hold power for the messy, complicated mix of emotions this season often brings. Joy and sorrow. Anticipation and discouragement. Warmth and loneliness.
Life has a way of dimming our sparkle, sometimes suddenly, sometimes slowly. If your inner light feels faint today, pause and ask the Holy Spirit to show you why.
- Has disappointment snuffed out your hope because circumstances didn’t unfold as you prayed they would?
- Has someone’s thoughtless remark wounded your spirit?
- Are you feeling the ache of an empty chair at the table this year?
- Does the weight of global uncertainty press heavily on your heart?
These moments—these shadows—are precisely the spaces Christ’s light is meant to enter. Jesus is the Light of life, the One whose presence dispels the darkness. He invites you to come as you are. Tell him how you feel. Hold nothing back. He is not indifferent to your pain, nor distant from your fear.

Give Him every hurt.
Every disappointment.
Every lonely place.
As you release those things that burden your heart, Christ’s presence settles over you with calming peace. His light gives wisdom and guides your steps. His love restores what feels dim or distant.
This Christmas, enjoy the glowing candles and twinkling lights. Enjoy the festive displays. And when you do, remember the truth of a far greater brilliance—the unwavering, unchanging light of Christ.
No matter what this season holds, may it be filled with peace, with joy, and with a renewed sense of wonder as you celebrate Jesus, the Light of the world—and the Light of your heart.
May I pray for you?
“Jesus–Yahweh Ori–God of light, thank You for coming to earth to shine Your light into every lonely and hurting place in our lives. Thank You for dispelling the darkness with Your unwavering, unchanging light. Please reveal Yourself as the light of life to every person who feels discouraged and alone this season. Dispel the darkness of despair with the beautiful reality of Your presence. In Your powerful name we pray, amen.”

Beautiful pray and message today Grace as I needed it greatly as I watched my sister-in law die on Monday . But she gave her heart to Christ 3 weeks before her death and you could see the Light of the world in you heart by the words she said and her eyes changed from a stone cold to a warm love .God’s Love so I am praising and honouring God today and your message and pray was heaven sent. Thank you for your calling as you touch so many people that you don’t even know. Love you Grace and be blessed today.
Shar, I am so very sorry for your loss. But wow…to think that your sister-in-law gave her heart to Christ only three weeks before her death. Jesus pursued her, and now she is more alive than she’s ever been. What a beautiful story of His redeeming love. May God comfort you as you grieve, and may this season be one of celebration even in sorrow for you.

Just what I needed…thank you, Grace.
Don’t you love it when the Holy Spirit gives us just what we need at the right time? I’m blessed to have been a part of that for you this week.
