Overcoming the Fear of Financial Insecurity

Overcoming the Fear of Financial Insecurity - Grace Fox

Truth be told, the fear of financial insecurity impacts far more people than pastors and missionaries. That’s why I’m sharing this article in my blog today.

I’ve recently started writing for an online resource for pastors. Their life’s calling doesn’t have a stellar reputation for paying big bucks. As a career missionary, I can totally relate.

When I sat down to write my latest piece, I figured I’d write a personal anecdote in hopes that it would inspire pastors to hang in there despite financial uncertainty and to know that God will always fulfill His promise to provide.

Truth be told, the fear of financial insecurity impacts far more people than pastors and missionaries. That’s why I’m sharing this article in my blog today. Hopefully it will encourage anyone who’s wrestling with fear in this regard.

  1. I have always struggled financially and have stressed about finances a lot over the years. The Lord then gave me a good job that I loved and I was able to catch up on my finances but after 7 years there He took me away from it due to disability. He gave me a provincial disability pension that is not even close to my monthly bills but then He proceeded to make sure that I had enough to pay everything every month! Not only did He provide enough but He even provided enough food that I was able to help my neighbors out by having them over for dinner several times a week ☺
Once I learned that I could trust Him and let Him look after my finances as well as me He gave me the ability to earn a little extra money as allowed by disability to pay for the increasing bills. I now look after six kids not far from my home. The Lord also supplied a car for me to get to work with after not having a car for almost 5 years. I know now that whatever happens He has it covered. That doesn’t mean that I am perfect by any means, sometimes I forget and start to worry again but it doesn’t last long once I remember He has always looked after me.
