What is Your Need Today?

What is Your Need Today? - Grace Fox

God has no needs. He’s the source of everything that exists both seen and unseen. He’s sufficient and fully able to satisfy every need we have.

I’m currently working on a new writing project, the first of a three-book series about about the names of God. In full disclosure, I look at the scope of this project and fearful thoughts enter my mind. The biggest fear, at this time, involves meeting the August 31 deadline.

Meeting that deadline would be no problem if I could sit at my desk and write full-time six days a week, but that’s never going to happen. Two new grandchildren are due within the next six weeks, and I want to be available to help when called on. I’ll travel later this month for a speaking engagement, and then I’ll travel to Florida to attend the National Religious Broadcaster’s convention in May.

I have to refuse to entertain fearful thoughts or they will paralyze me. Instead, I turn to prayer: “Father, You know what’s necessary for me to write this manuscript. Please provide creativity, the ability to hear the Holy Spirit’s voice, and the ability to manage time wisely so I can do this job while balancing it with other aspects of my life.”

God meets our needs

God will prove faithful, of this I am sure. After all, who’s better able to meet our needs than the God of the universe?

Acts 17:24-25 says,

24He is the God who made the world and everything in it. Since he is Lord of heaven and earth, he doesn’t live in manmade temples, 25and human hands can’t serve his needs—for he has no needs. He himself gives life and breath to everything, and he satisfies every need.”

God has no needs

He’s complete and lacks nothing. He’s the source of everything that exists both seen and unseen. Therefore, He’s sufficient and fully able to satisfy every need we have.

  • Need wisdom? He’s got it covered. (James 1:5)
  • Need joy? (Psalm 16:11)
  • Need peace? (John 14:27)
  • Need provision? (Matthew 6:31-33)
  • Need forgiveness? (1 John 1:9)
  • Need hope? (Psalm 39:7)
  • Need guidance? (Isaiah 30:21)
  • Need rest? (Matthew 11:28-30)
  • Need courage? (Deuteronomy 31:6)

I’m trusting the God who lacks nothing to supply my needs with regards to writing my next book.

For what needs are you trusting to Him today?

Pick one from the list above (or come up with your own) and write it in the comments section. I’ll pray for you, my friend.

Know you are loved,

Grace

    1. Hi Carol. Thank you for the privilege of praying for your concerns. “Father, we praise You because You know all things about us and the details of our lives. Carol’s being laid off from her job was no surprise to You. Please provide her with another job — one that You have specifically chosen for her. Prepare that place for her right now, and lead her to it in Your timing. We also pray for Your healing power in Graham’s life and for Your leading him to the best job for him, too. And we trust You to work in the lives of her family members. Please turn their hearts toward You so they might enjoy unhindered fellowship with You.Thank You in advance for what You will do. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

    1. Hi Erica.

I’m so sorry to hear that you’re struggling in this way. “Father, You know every detail about Erica’s situation. Just as You saw Hagar in the wilderness, so You see Erica in her difficult circumstances. Meet her in that place, and come to her rescue. Send her the encouragement, wisdom, and comfort she needs. Lead her to a healthy place for Your name’s sake, Lord. We’re trusting You to create for her a place where she can flourish. We ask these things in Jesus’ name, amen.”

      Know you are loved,
      Grace
