Finding Hope in Life’s Hard Places
God sees our circumstances and hears our cries. We are not alone–ever. He loves us, honours us, and considers us precious.
We all need hope. May these posts inspire hope in your life.

Do you have a relationship with God? If so, that’s great! If not, keep reading. Having a relationship with Him is simple, really.
The greatest joy of all comes from something I may never fully understand–how God in heaven stooped and sent His Son to bridge the chasm caused by sin.
Joy isn’t something we can work up. Nor is it found in rosy circumstances. It comes from within, the natural overflow of an ever-growing friendship with Jesus.
As a followers of Christ, we don’t need to bear it alone. He, too, experienced pain, and He empathizes with us. He fills us with strength necessary to cope.
Do not stop hoping. Do not stop asking. Do not stop focusing on the truth: God can change our circumstances, mend a broken relationship, and heal a broken body.
Every one of us has some sort of pain in our past (or our present). Here are three ways to overcome it, based on the life of Joseph.
This weekend provided a perfect opportunity for me to learn gratitude. The lesson came through a lost suitcase at O’Hare’s airport.
Heaven is real. What difference does that knowledge make to us today, when we’re struggling to raise kids and pay bills? How about courage and strength?
Joy is ours even when life stinks. Let’s make joy our life and whet the appetite of a watching world to know the Source of true joy.
Sometimes the Lord surprises us with unexpected gifts. This week has been one of those for me. It was a sacred moment. A moment that awed me by God’s goodness.
I’m overwhelmed with how God has shown His delight in every detail of my family’s life over the past six weeks. My faith has grown to a new level as a result.
Watching God answer specific prayers exceeding abundantly above on Kim and David’s behalf has been such a delight. And He’ll do the same for you.
My daughter’s three bridesmaids live in three different cities. How God answered impossible prayers for their bridesmaid dresses.
Stories of God’s power encourage our faith. Here’s how I saw His power at work recently when He provided me with clothes I couldn’t normally afford.
Whether in a big or small package, the power of encouragement cannot be overestimated. Let’s pass encouragement to someone today.
Our challenges are opportunities for God to demonstrate His power through us. He wants to show His power through me and you.
My family means more to me than anything this world offers. But what bearing does our relationship with Christ have on our kids?

I marvel at how God blessed the obedience of this woman who said yes to God’s call on her life despite it being far beyond her comfort zone.
Sometimes God’s purposes overrule our plans. That happened to me this weekend in a most unexpected way.
“I listen carefully to what God the LORD is saying, for he speaks peace to his faithful people” (Psalm 85:8). What is the Lord saying to you?
Giving thanks is the sure-fire fix for the blahs. There’s no way the blahs can hang around when I choose to express gratitude.

No matter what our life experience with earthly fathers, it’s vital that we focus on the truth about God’s character. What is that?
God knows what’s behind that closed door and whether or not it would do me more harm than good. There’s a reason it’s closed.
God rides across the heavens to help us. He rushes across the skies in majestic splendor to rescue us. He sees us from afar, and He rides the wind to save us.
The more I read about joy, the more I’m convinced that God’s kids, more than anyone else on earth, ought to be living demonstrations of this characteristic.
Imagine Him smiling on us, taking pleasure in us, expressing delight in us as He expressed delight in His Son, Jesus. The thought warms my heart.
