God Will Fulfill His Purpose for Us!

God Will Fulfill His Purpose for Us! - Grace Fox

Sometimes we run ahead of God’s timing, or try to manipulate our circumstances. Why? Because we doubt God’s ability to fulfill His purposes for us.

Three weeks ago, I shared another book idea with my literary agent, Steve Laube. “I love it,” he said. “Write a synopsis and I’ll send it to your publisher.”

I did what he said, and now the synopsis awaits review before a publishing committee.

God is in control

Meanwhile, I wait having no clue what the committee will decide. Honestly, I really want to write this book, but deep inside I want what God wants more.

If He opens this door, then I’ll walk through it. If He closes it, then I’ll prayerfully weigh my options.

In times past, I might have stressed over the not-knowing or over the prospect of my idea being rejected. After all, my job as an author is to write books, yes? Having no publishing contracts makes my job a bit difficult.

But life experience has been a good teacher. I’ve learned that worrying about the what-ifs gets me nowhere. God is either in control of my life and able to fulfill His purposes for me, or He’s not.

Trusting God

I don’t need to fret or manipulate my circumstances to get what I want. I do need to trust God’s ability to bring His purposes to pass. Therein lies peace and the ability to live in the present, enjoying every moment of the now without worrying about what the future holds.

Sometimes we worry about the details of our lives. We doubt God’s ability to provide for our financial needs, give us a spouse, or help us meet our goals. But let’s remember that He is God Most High and more than able to fulfill His purposes for us.

Let’s take it a step further and ask the Lord to fulfill His purposes for us in a way that boggles human comprehension. Let’s invite Him to work on our behalf in a manner that leaves onlookers astounded. Then He truly receives the glory, and we get the joy of seeing Him do the impossible.

A prayer for you

“Heavenly Father, we trust You to fulfill Your purposes for us. Grant us a heart that rests in Your wisdom and ways. Enable us to revel in Your presence as You go before us, opening and closing doors as You desire. Leave us in awe of Your power, and bring glory to Yourself in the process. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

Know you are loved,

Grace
