Praise is Intentional and Life-Changing
How can we be intentional? Every time we catch ourselves thinking or saying something negative about our situation, let’s turn it around with a praise song

Why, oh why, would we withhold and try to do life our way when He’s clearly shown us how to have our heart’s desire fully satisfied?
Psalm 37:23 runs through my mind: “The steps of the godly are directed by the LORD. He delights in every detail of their lives.” Every detail. Even house paint.
Satan tried to kill Christ but failed miserably. And he can’t succeed in his attempts to take us out when Christ lives in us, so celebrate this Easter with joy.
Prayer is more than asking God to meet our needs. It’s actively engaging with the Creator of the universe, the Savior of our souls every minute of every day.
Remembering who God is gives us the courage and ability to do what He says. It enables us to “be anxious for nothing” and to “give thanks in everything.”
Faith stories make a difference. Let’s take advantage of their influence. Let’s stoke the fire of the next generation’s faith by recalling God’s goodness to us.
Praise diminishes our fear by reminding us that God holds us and controls every detail of our lives. We can rest in His wisdom and ways.
Whatever challenges you face, know that you’re not alone. Jesus is with you, and He promises to set your feet on solid ground and keep you from falling.
Our job is to follow where He leads, listen to His voice, and trust Him. We’re also to practice praise even though we might not understand what He’s up to.
Asking God to guard us from problems may not get us the answer we want. If we pray according to His will, the answer will come in His time and in His way.
The driven person doubts whether his efforts have been sufficient whereas the drawn person senses the Father’s whisper, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Thank you for your role in the ministry that happened this summer–North Americans and Eastern Europeans alike. Eternity alone with reveal the results.
It’s easy to feel anxious. But in the midst of it all, God plops Scriptures into my path to remind me I’m not dealing with this alone. I love when He does that.
Why do we think we can do life well on our own? We do our own thing, settling for less than God’s best in the process, and then we whine about the outcome.
I write these words with tears rolling down my face this morning. He’s taken the load from our shoulders. He’s freed our hands from their heavy tasks.
Beginning and ending our day focused on God is found in Psalm 92:2: It is good to proclaim your unfailing love in the morning, your faithfulness in the evening.
The greatest joy of all comes from something I may never fully understand–how God in heaven stooped and sent His Son to bridge the chasm caused by sin.
As a followers of Christ, we don’t need to bear it alone. He, too, experienced pain, and He empathizes with us. He fills us with strength necessary to cope.
Do not stop hoping. Do not stop asking. Do not stop focusing on the truth: God can change our circumstances, mend a broken relationship, and heal a broken body.
Scripture says Satan is our enemy; he constantly prowls about seeking ways to destroy us. We find safety from his evil intent when we hide ourselves in Christ.
Joy is ours even when life stinks. Let’s make joy our life and whet the appetite of a watching world to know the Source of true joy.
We face an enemy who seeks to destroy us, but we can force him to retreat in defeat. We won’t do battle alone; God fights for us and with us.
Giving thanks when life’s easy is well, easy. Doing it when life hurts is another thing. That’s when expressing gratitude is most important.
I’m overwhelmed with how God has shown His delight in every detail of my family’s life over the past six weeks. My faith has grown to a new level as a result.
God is more than able to orchestrate the details of our lives. Do we trust Him?
Seeking direction? God promises to give guidance, but there’s a prerequisite.
I feel afraid of shadows sometimes. They often come in the form of the “what-ifs. What shadows frighten you? Here’s reassurance to help overcome that fear.
Stories of God’s power encourage our faith. Here’s how I saw His power at work recently when He provided me with clothes I couldn’t normally afford.
We hurry to the store when it offers great sales. Do we hurry to obey God’s commands with the same enthusiasm or do we dilly-dally while doing our own thing?
Every once in awhile, we catch a glimpse of how much God delights in us. Here’s one example.
We yearn for peace, especially when evil happens as it did this week in Boston. Is peace possible? Yes. By admitting that we need God’s help.
Facing discouragement? Facing desperate circumstances? Be encouraged today. God knows the path through the deep waters. Trust Him.
When I see how God bestows beauty and care on His creation, I cannot help but feel comforted in knowing He’ll care for me with the same attention to detail.
I have no idea why God has allowed this to happen, but this one thing I know–He hears me when I cry for help and He will answer.
Life is full of uncertainties, but this we know–the Lord is always with us. No matter what life brings, He is right beside us.
